Wenn Ihr diese Titel auf Vinyl haben wollt, wird es kaum eine günstigere Möglichkeit geben, denn selbst Bootlegs oder andere Reissues sind im Regelfall teuerer. Leider werden diese Titel nicht mehr nachgepresst. Daher ist es absehbar, daß eine komplette Sevens-Sammlung in Zukunft ein begehrtes Sammlerobjekt sein wird (siehe "Northern Soul Stories" oder "Kent-Sampler"). White Label & Look-A-Likes

Reissues gibt es in der Northern Soul Szene schon sehr lange. Liegt ja auch nahe, wenn eine große Nachfrage nach Schallplatten besteht, die im Original nur sehr schwer aufzutreiben sind. Früher wurden diese Neuveröffentlichungen meist auf eigenen Reissue-Labeln (z.B. Casino Classic, Grapevine, Inferno oder Disco Demand, später dann in großem Stil von Goldmine oder Stardust) veröffentlicht. Neben diesen Reissues gibt es auch immer wieder sogenannte "White Label" Singles. Diese Singles werden in der Regel nur in extrem kleinen Auflagen gepresst, daher unter Umständen relativ schnell ausverkauft. Bei den Titeln handelt es sich größtenteils um solche, die in der engl. Northern Soul Szene gerade InDemand (sehr gefragt), als Original kaum zu bekommen und noch nicht auf anderen Reissues erschienen sind. In den letzten Jahren sind in England sogenannte Look-A-Likes schwer in Mode gekommen. Wenn man sich die originalen Singles nicht leisten kann oder will (oder sie auch einfach nicht findet), hat man so die Möglichkeit die begehrten Scheiben selber aus echtem Vinyl in Händen zu halten. Das Ganze dann auch noch in der ursprünglichen Optik. Man muß sich natürlich bewußt sein, daß es nur eine Nachpressung ist, kann sich mit seiner Plattensammlung aber trotzdem an den vielfältigen zeitgenössischen Labeln erfreuen. Auch in letzter Zeit sind wieder einige gesuchte Titel als Look-A-Likes auf den Markt gekommen

Boot Records waren die ersten Northern Soul Nachpressungen, bei denen sich die englischen Macher am deutschen Markt orientiert haben. Daher sind alle Titel, die auf Boot Records erschienen sind, seit den neunziger Jahren ganz große Hits, vor allem in der deutschen Rollerszene. Leider sind die Boot Records inzwischen ausverkauft.

Ebenso wie bei den CDs zeichnet sich JoeBoy auch im Vinylbereich mehr durch Klasse als durch Masse aus. Das bezieht sich als erstes natürlich auf die Musikauswahl. Auf JoeBoy bekommt man Stücke, die sonst kaum zu bekommen sind. Aber auch die Umsetzung ist hochwertig. Gerade bei Vinyl kann man eine gute Qualität schon fühlen (dickeres Vinyl, somit bessere Tonqualität und höhere Lebensdauer). Dazu kommen meist sehr aufwendige Cover. So war z.B. die erste JoeBoy-Single (JBV-01, "So Soon", Donnie Elbert) bereits nach kurzer Zeit vergriffen und die Gebrauchtpreise haben bereits den Neupreis überschritten.

Titel von denen lediglich einmal eine Probeaufnahme gemacht wurde, die dann nicht als Platte gepresst wurde.

Grapevine 2000

Grapevine 2000 ist ein weiteres englische Reissue Label. Der Name ist natürlich in Anlehnung an das bekannte Grapevine Label entstanden. Auf Grapevine 2000 werden sowohl klassicher Northern, als auch Crossover und Modern Soul veröffentlicht. In erster Linie handelt es dabei allerdings um Stücke die besonders rar, dabei aber auch gleich indemand sind (oder zumindestens das Potential dazu haben in nächster Zeit zu gefragten Dancefloorfillern zu werden). Einige der Titel gab es bislang lediglich auf den Millionaires CD von Goldmine. Als Originalsingles nur unter Einsatz erheblicher Mengen Bares zu erstehen. Die Grapevine2000 Singles sind alle nur in begrenzter Stückzahl gepresst worden und werden nicht nachgefertigt. Wenn sie vergriffen sind ist Schluß.
